DOWN THE FOOD CHAIN. HOW CAPITALIST INDUSTRY BY DESIGN KEEP CERTAIN PEOPLE IN POVERTY TO ENSURE PROFITS AT THE END OF THE SUPPLY CHAIN.
these people live like this to ensure more than reasonable amount of profit for the companies that package and sell you the food you eat. if its not local, then it is imported and the conditions cannot be compared between farmers and fisherman in europe or any first world country and developing countries.
any development in a particular area in these regions bring jobs indeed but none where you can make a comfortable living from. all service. if this is not modern day slavery i dont know what is? resorts and villages built around resorts know what this is like. people either work minimum wage jobs in the resort or they work in the industry around it such as fishing, gastronomy, shop sales.
the alternative to this life of poverty this man is talking about is education. but the education system is not only expensive in the philippines but it carries absolutely no guarantees. they have programmed us to believe that the only way through prosperity is through their indoctrination to make you a slave into their work system. professionalism is learning to lie for them and defend their values. so no thank you. why not make this lifestyle more money for these people as an alternative to the education system. fishing for food or farming creatively can be a lot of fun and a great environment for children to grow up in if there was more support for it.
please help in fighting for reparations to start capital for these people to get more equipment and tools to support their own industry.
